Thomsen Breaks Own 60-Meter Hurdle Record at Macalester

RESULTS

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's track & field team made the trek down Snelling Avenue to compete at the Macalester Vanessa Seljeskog Classic on Saturday. The Pipers took seventh place out of eight teams with 43.50 points. Bethel claimed the team crown with 170.50 points.

Joshua Thomsen highlighted the Pipers in the 60-meter hurdles, where he broke his own school record with a second-place time of 8.17. He kept that momentum alive in the 200 meter dash as he crossed the finish line at 23.24 to secure fifth place. Michael Braun came through with a leap of 1.85m in the high jump, good enough for third place. Braun kept the third-place trend alive in the triple jump with a 12.85m.The long jump was all Teris Watson, who eclipsed a fifth-place mark of 5.96m.

The pole vault was all Oliver Engstrom, who cleared the bar at 3.80m on his ninth attempt en route to fourth place.

The Pipers will return to action at the Minnesota State-Mankato Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Friday, January 27 - Saturday, January 28.
