MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University men's basketball team took a short drive down I-94 to Augsburg University on Saturday afternoon. Sam Hoffman and Austin Holt engineered a Pipers squad that converted their most efficient performance of the season from three-point land with a .524 (11-of-21) figure, which highlighted a narrow 76-73 victory over the Auggies.
Hamline improves to 8-4, 4-3 MIAC, while Augsburg drops to 4-9, 2-6 MIAC.

Each member of the Pipers' starting five finished in double-figures, which accounted for 100 percent of the team's scoring. Austin Holt tied for a season-high seven assists, along with a game-best 22 points on 4-of-7 from beyond the arch, eight rebounds and two steals. Sam Hoffman drained a season-high five 3-point baskets en route to 21 points, followed by Bradley Cimperman's 12 points. A double double was nearly on the horizon for Brendan Ebel, who eclipsed 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Mick Wherley rounded out the Pipers with 10 points and six boards.
Hamline tied for a season-high 20 assists in the contest, and utilized just two players from their bench while Augsburg used six players. The Auggies were led by Bradley Winter's 16 points and seven boards.
Hamline will host Macalester on Wednesday, January 11 at 7 p.m.
