SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team welcomed UW-Eau Claire to Pat Paterson Field for their 2023 home finale on Tuesday afternoon. The Blugolds, who have faced the Pipers in each of their first three seasons as a varsity program, improve to 3-0 in the all-time series with a 3-0 victory.
Hamline falls to 6-5-2, while UW-Eau Claire improves to 10-3-2.

Nathan Donovan, who had a hand in all three goals, converted the Blugolds' sixth shot of the game off a feed from Carter Thiesfeld in the 17th minute to make the score 1-0. Thiesfeld and Donovan each set up Sam Lynch's goal in the 30th minute, which widened the margin to 2-0. Donovan put the finishing touches on his five-point outing with his second goal of the contest that pushed UW-Eau Claire's advantage to 3-0 in the 60th minute.
Thiesfeld registered two assists for the Blugolds, who held a 25-2 shots advantage over the Pipers.
UW-Eau Claire goalkeeper Spencer Banks made one save. Ethan Schauer stopped three shots in the opening 72 minutes for Hamline before Durham Welch recorded two saves in the final 18 minutes.
The Pipers will close the regular season with a three-game road swing, beginning with a short trip to Macalester on Saturday, October 21 for a 1 p.m. match.
