The Pipers Fall 3-0 To a Tough River Falls Team

SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University women's soccer team welcomed Wisconsin River-Falls for a Wednesday afternoon non-conference game at Pat Paterson Field. The Pipers dropped this contest to a tough Falcons team 3-0.
 
Hamline moves to 1-7-1, while River Falls improves to 5-2-3.

The start to this game was back-and forth-with no scoring. Then River Falls started the scoring with a corner-kick goal in the 26th minute from Abby Tapanila. The Falcons then rattled off two more. Elizabeth DeVecchi scored another River Falls corner-kick goal in the 42nd minute, and Aliviah McClinton followed her in the 46th minute to start the second half with a 3-0 lead. The Pipers were not able to cut down the lead with the Falcons holding their 3-0 advantage for the rest of the game. 
 
Adela Ashby led the way with three shots, two of them on goal, while Maya Dempsey was shortly behind her with two shots. Isabella Jensen made five saves for the Pipers while her counterpart Grace Zellmer made three for UW-River Falls.
 
The Pipers will host St. Olaf at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday, October 7th, at 3:30 p.m.
