SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's volleyball team welcomed No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus to Hutton Arena for a Saturday-night match. Hamline falls to 3-11, 0-5 MIAC, while Gustavus improves to 16-4, 5-0 MIAC.

Gustavus Adolphus 3, Hamline 1 (22-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-20)

Elizabeth Lopata came out swinging with seven kills in an opening frame that resulted in a .351 hitting mark for the Pipers, who trailed for the first time at 19-18 off an attack error. The Gusties pushed that advantage to 21-18 thanks to a Sydney Olson kill, and a Pipers attack error. Lopata contributed four kills in Hamline's 7-1 run at the end, which secured them a 25-22 victory.

The Gusties didn't trail at any point through the final three sets that consisted of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-20 victories over the Pipers.

Lopata paced Hamline with 12 kills. Julianna Boyum had 11 kills and four blocks for the Pipers, while Lauren Wilborn had 10 kills. Kaitlyn Kotek came through with 34 assists. Jenna Rubbelke led Hamline's defensive efforts with 25 digs.
