RIVER FALLS, WIS.—The Hamline University women's volleyball team made the short trip across the Minnesota/Wisconsin border to face UW-River Falls for their final road match of the 2023 season, where they dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-13) decision.
The Pipers fall to 8-15, while the Falcons improve to 19-8.
UW-River Falls 3, Hamline 0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-13)
The Falcons never trailed in a 25-16 victory in set one, before the second frame resulted in seven lead changes. The tail end of the second set resulted in a 5-1 run for UW-River Falls, which dug them out of a 21-20 deficit and gave them the lead for good in a 25-22 victory over Hamline. The Pipers couldn't muster a lead at any point of a 25-13 loss in set three.
Jenna Rubbelke registered a team-leading 20 digs for a Hamline team that was held to a season-low 18 team kills. The Pipers made up for that at the net with 18 assisted blocks and one solo block; as Kennedy Tutak, Julianna Boyum, and Lindsay Eckelman had a hand in five a apiece. Kaitlyn Kotek had 13 assists for Hamline.
Kameri Meredith represented the Falcons with a game-high 14 kills, while Brenna Olson had 22 digs.
Hamline will conclude their 2023 season on Friday, November 3, when they'll host St. Scholastica at Hutton Arena for senior day. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
