The Pipers either led or tied for all but 1:07 in the contest, but it was the Cobbers who prevailed at the end as Matthew Johnson's three-pointer from the top-right corner at the buzzer sealed a 68-65 decision. Approximately :02 was added to the clock following the shot, but the Pipers couldn't counter that big play.

Bradley Cimperman, the only Piper who finished in double figures, registered a game-high 26 points for Hamline on 4-of-9 from the three-point line. Mick Wherley led the way with four steals, while Austin Holt came through with four assists and nine points.
