COLLEGEVILLE, MINN.—The Hamline University men's basketball team snapped a 16-game losing skid to Saint John's (Minn.), as they came through with a big 88-72 road victory on Saturday afternoon. This marked the Pipers' first win over the Johnnies since a 74-65 decision at Hutton Arena on February 9, 2015, and their first triumph in Collegeville since February 21, 2006, when they prevailed with a 74-71 win in the MIAC Tournament.

Hamline came through with a 27-of-54 (.500) shooting mark in the contest, which included a stellar 20-of-31 (.645) clip in the first half. The Johnnies took a 9-4 lead through 4:30 of play before Bradley Cimperman's jumper and three-pointer knotted the game at 9-9 with 13:30 on the clock, which sparked a 48-19 Pipers run that gave them a 52-28 halftime cushion. Hamline finished the opening half with 10 three-point baskets.

It was enough arsenal for Hamline to maintain a double-digit lead throughout the second half, where they hung onto a 88-72 victory.

Cimperman led the way with 30 points on 5-of-6 from beyond the arch. Brendan Ebel came through with 16 points, five assists, and two steals. Mick Wherley notched 14 points and two steals, while Austin Holt tallied his 12th double double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards along with three steals and five assists.

The Pipers registered a 13-of-22 mark (.591) from three-point land, and held the Johnnies to a dismal 6-of-31 (.194) figure. Ryan Thissen led Saint John's with 16 points.

Hamline will travel to St. Scholastica on Wednesday, February 8 for a 7 p.m. game.
