ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA.—The Hamline University women's tennis team squared-off against Salve Regina at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Wednesday. The Pipers dropped a 5-4 decision to the Seahawks.
Hamline falls to 2-7 with the loss.
"Props to Lynn Nguyen for pulling out a tough third set tiebreak her in singles and to first-year Christine Muller, who won both her singles and doubles matches without dropping a game," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones.
Salve Regina 5, Hamline 4
The bottom two doubles matches belonged to Hamline as Chloe Reyes/Natalie Randall won 8-2 at No. 2, while Christine Muller/Sydney Hubbard took care of business 8-0 at No. 3.
The singles flight wasn't as kind to Hamline, who came through with a pair of wins. Lynn Nguyen did the honors at the No. 4 position with a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 win, followed by Christine Muller's 6-0, 6-0 domination at No. 5
The Pipers will face Scranton at the USTA National Campus in Orlando on Thursday, March 16 at 6 p.m. (ET).
