WINONA, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Saturday afternoon.

The Pipers fall to 7-4, 0-3 MIAC, while the Cardinals improve to 9-7, 2-4 MIAC.

"Tough loss today at Winona against a boisterous crowd," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "Looking forward to getting back at it with the men versus Concordia tomorrow. Surprise Taylor and Zach Irrthum also went undefeated on the day."

Saint Mary's 5, Hamline 4

The Pipers exited doubles with a 2-1 lead behind victories from Sean Le/Sam Thompson 8-4 at No. 2, and Surprise Taylor/Zach Irrthum 8-5 at No. 3. The singles flight wasn't as kind to Hamline, who dropped the top four matches. The bottom two matches resulted in wins thanks to Taylor 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, and Irrthum 7-5, 6-3 at No. 6.

The Pipers will host Concordia (Minn.) at the Rogers Tennis Center tomorrow, Sunday, March 26 at 12:30 p.m.
