Pipers Take Down Blue Devils

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team faced first-year program UW-Stout in a Saturday-afternoon affair at the University of Minnesota Rec Sports Dome. The Pipers gave head coach Adam Dobis his first victory with a 17-3 decision over the Blue Devils. 

Hamline improves to 1-1, while UW-Stout falls to 0-2.

Taryn Leonard was all over the scoresheet with a team-leading five goals, 10 shots, six ground balls, five caused turnovers, and seven draw controls. Maitland Luksan chipped in four goals, followed by two apiece from Lily Uhl and Nicole Phillips.

Ally Crymble registered a pair of goals for the Blue Devils.

The Pipers were nearly flawless in clears, where they notched a 22-of-24 mark and out shot the Blue Devils 42-11.

Justine Case notched one save in net for Hamline, while Tessa Bailey stopped 13 shots between the pipes for UW-Stout.

The Pipers will host Alma at Klas Field on Sunday, March 12 at 10 a.m.
