SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team welcomed Cornell (Iowa) to Klas Field for a Thursday-night showdown. The Pipers out shot the Rams 27-18 in the contest, and jumped to a 3-1 lead after the opening quarter. It didn't result in victory as Cornell opened the second frame with a 3-0 run, and wouldn't trail from that point forward in a 10-9 decision over the Pipers.
Cornell improves to 8-5, 2-1 MWLC, while Hamline falls to 1-8, 0-4 MWLC.

Cornell's come-from-behind 3-0 run to open the second quarter gave them a 4-3 lead with 7:27 on the clock. Despite never leading again in the contest, Hamline tied the game on two more occasions, which included a 4-4 halftime score and an 8-8 mark with 6:57 left in the fourth quarter. The Pipers cut their deficit to one goal three times over the final 15:00, highlighted by Taryn Leonard's goal with 00:45 left in the contest that made the score 10-9.
Lily Uhl registered a team-leading three goals for the Pipers, followed by two apiece from Maitland Luksan and Analisa Aragon. Courtney Parker tallied a pair of assists, one goal, three ground balls, and two draw controls.
Kendra Haselow notched a team-leading four ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Leonard returned from injury with five draw controls and a goal for Hamline, who finished the game 15-of-15 on clear attempts.
Hannah Miech made 13 saves in net for Cornell, while Justine Case stopped three shots for Hamline.
The Pipers will travel to UW-La Crosse on Sunday, April 16 for a 2 p.m. match.
