The Foresters never trailed in the contest despite each side trading a goal three times in the opening stages. A trio of goals from Analisa Aragon kept things interesting in the early going as the score read 3-3 with 11:49 left in the second quarter. Despite Hamline holding a 9-7 edge in shots throughout the second frame, the Foresters responded with a 4-0 run that gave them a 7-3 cushion with 5:16 left in the opening half.

The Pipers managed to cut their deficit to three goals on a pair of occasions at 11-8 and 12-9 in the fourth quarter, where they out shot the Foresters 6-2.

Aragon played the game of her life with four goals. Her three caused turnovers in the contest engineered a Hamline defense that had the upper hand 11-10 in that category. Maitland Luksan recorded three goals for the Pipers offense, while Kendra Haselow was led the way with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Avery Wilson registered a team-leading four draw controls for Hamline, who won the clearing battle with a 19-of-20 mark against Lake Forest's 13-of-16 figure.

Hamline made the most of their free-position attempts with a 7-of-10 figure.

Justine Case made six saves in net for Hamline, while Lake Forest's Calliope Saban and Cecelia Adams combined for nine stops between the pipes.

Jenna Doctor paced Lake Forest with five goals while teammate Ali Graham notched three caused turnovers, four ground balls, four draw controls, and three goals.

The Pipers will host first-year program Saint Benedict at Klas Field on Monday, April 10 at 6 p.m.
