ST. JOSEPH, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team traveled to Saint Benedict for their first MIAC road bout of 2023 on Saturday afternoon. A pair of second-half goals for the Bennies secured them a 2-0 victory over the Pipers.
Hamline falls to 1-4-1, 0-1-1 MIAC, while Saint Benedict improves to 2-3-0, 1-1-0 MIAC on the season.

An uneventful first half resulted in just one shot, zero saves, four corner kicks, and four fouls called between both teams. The second half was a different story as both teams combined for 12 shots, eight of which belonged to the Bennies. Two of those shots found the back of the net and secured the Bennies a 2-0 victory courtesy of Avery Solis in the 71st minute, and Alli Voss in the 74th minute. Emma Young was credited an assist on Voss's goal.
Saint Benedict out shot Hamline 9-4. Zoe Esser-Domnitz accounted for three-of-four Pipers shots. Emily Cavanaugh was assessed the game's lone yellow card for the Bennies in the 88th minute.
Isabella Jensen made four saves in net for Hamline, while her counterpart Annie Waters recorded one stop between the pipes for Saint Benedict.
The Pipers will return to action on Saturday, September 23, when they'll host Gustavus Adolphus at 3:30 p.m.
