NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Hamline University women's tennis team traveled to Carleton for a Saturday-afternoon match, where they dropped a 9-0 decision.
The Pipers fall to 0-2, 0-1 MIAC, while the Knights improve to 1-0, 1-0 MIAC.
"The women worked hard today but were overmatched by the top team in our conference who is a national threat," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "All of our players saw elite competition today, and have a list of things to work on for the rest of the season. Â We are going to use this learning experience."

The closest doubles match occurred at the No. 2 spot, where Ashley Pitzen/Natalie Randall fell 8-2. Freshman Vanessa Pham dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 6 singles, which proved to be the most intriguing match.
The Pipers will return to action on Saturday, September 23 at UW-Stout. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
