SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University women's volleyball team welcomed St. Olaf to Hutton Arena for a Saturday-night conference battle. The Pipers fell in a four-set match by a score of 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16).Â

The Pipers lost a tightly-contested first set to the Oles 25-23.
St. Olaf doubled up the Pipers in kills by a 16-8 margin in the second frame, led by five from Catherine Moore. It was more than enough for the Oles in a 25-17 victory, which gave them a 2-0 match lead.
The third set was a battle, as the Pipers came out on top 25-23 and sent the match to a fourth set, where the Oles took control and won 25-16.

Elizabeth Lopata had a great night with a team-high 11 kills. Julianna Boyum led the Pipers in aces (three) and blocks (eight) tonight. Kaitlyn Kotek had 18 assists while Jenna Rubbelke recorded 16 digs.Â

The Pipers will host Nebraska Wesleyan at Hutton Arena next Friday, September 29th at 5 p.m.
