SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University men's hockey team welcomed in UW-Stevens Point to Tria Rink for a Friday night non-conference bout. The Pipers lost a chippy battle 5-1 against the Pointers helped by a hat trick for their captain Andrew Poulias.

These two teams traded goals early in the first period with the Pointers getting on the board first with a goal from Andrew Poulias at 9:50 to make the score 1-0. The Pipers quickly answered with a breakaway goal from junior forward
Brandon McNamara at 7:29 to tie the game at one. UW-Stevens Point scores two power-play goals in the last minute of the first frame to break the tie making the score 3-1. No scoring to start the second period until the Pointers added onto their lead with goals 4:22 and 1:01. One of the goals came from number 25, Andrew Poulias tallying his third goal of the night. The score was 5-1 heading into the final frame with the Pointers on top. The third mainly consisted of both teams shutting down the others power plays one after another keeping the score at 5-1 which was the result.Â
