SAINT PAUL, MINN.—Benchmarks were met in the Hamline University men's soccer team's match against St. Scholastica at Pat Paterson Field on Tuesday afternoon. Among them being the end result, as the Pipers' 5-1 victory over the Saints gives them 12 on the season, which ties the single-season school record. Their only other 12-win season occurred in 2017, when they finished with a 12-6-1 record.Â
Hamline improves to 12-3, 4-3 MIAC, while St. Scholastica falls to 3-11-1, 1-5-0 MIAC.

Other benchmarks achieved from the Pipers were conference season highs in shots (20), shots on goal (11), goals (five), and assists (seven).
Both teams nearly went into halftime scoreless, but Jarod Timlin stopped that from becoming a reality when he fired a missile from 40 yards out that found the back of the net in the 44th minute that gave the Pipers a 1-0 lead. Timlin utilized that momentum in the 50th minute, when his second tally of the contest widened Hamline's lead to 2-0.Â
The flood gates continued to open for Hamline over the next 12 minutes. Ricky Kwabena Yawson netted his team-leading 11th goal of the season off a feed from Rigoberto Arellano in the 54th minute, before Jonathan Bayer set up Augustine Feika's third goal of the season in the 62nd minute that made the score 4-0.
St. Scholastica spoiled Hamline's shutout bid courtesy of Ted Barker's goal in the 71st minute that narrowed their deficit to 4-1. Maximiliano Centurion put the exclamation point on the contest with his first collegiate goal in the 83rd minute that made the score 5-1.
Jarod Timlin paced Hamline with two goals, while Kwabena Yawson had one goal and one assist. Jonathan Bayer dished two assists for the Pipers, who out shot the Saints 20-15.
Maxim Henderson made 10 saves over 77:30 of work in net for Hamline, while Ben Hallberg stopped six shots over 90:00 for St. Scholastica.
Hamline will travel to Carleton on Saturday, October 19 for a 3:30 p.m. game.
