Pipers Break Single-Season Wins Record With 2-1 Victory Over Crown

SAINT PAUL, MINN.--The Hamline University men's soccer team defeated Crown (Minn.) 2-1 on Thursday at Paterson Field in Saint Paul.

The Pipers hold an overall record of 13-4-0 with a MIAC record of 4-4-0. Their 13 victories is a new school record for wins in a season.

Crown has an overall record of 8-8-0 and stands strong in the UMAC with a record of 8-3-0.

Hamline 2, Crown 1

In the first half, Hamline dominated possession with 17 shots, but struggled to convert, as Crown's goalkeeper, Will Parcher, made crucial saves, including six notable stops. Despite Hamline's offensive efforts, Crown capitalized on their opportunity with Luke Kamm scoring the half's only goal in the 29th minute, giving Crown a 1-0 lead at halftime. Hamline also had four corner kicks and committed five fouls, reflecting their aggressive approach without finding the back of the net.

Hamline dominated the second half with continuous pressure, recording 14 shots, of which three were on target and saved by Crown's goalkeeper, Will Parcher. Despite facing two yellow cards, Crown couldn't capitalize offensively, managing only two shots, both off target. Hamline's persistence paid off with goals from Belal Elghorab in the 63rd minute and Jessie Juarez in the 64th minute, securing a 2-1 victory.
Jessie Juarez has been a standout player for Hamline, scoring one goal and providing one assist, while also leading with five shots. His contribution includes the game-winning goal, marking him as a key player in critical moments. Ryder Tomlinson Sterud was the primary shot taker in his return to the lineup with six shots, five of which were on target, highlighting his accuracy and offensive threat. Augustine Feika was another significant contributor in the attacking lineup, leading the Pipers with seven shots. On the defensive end, Hamline goalkeeper Maxim Henderson made two saves over the first 90:00, before Bodean Gaustad stopped one shot throughout the final 45:00

Will Parcher stood out for Crown with an impressive 12 saves in goal.

The Pipers will return to action on Saturday, October 26, when they host Macalester at 3:30 p.m.
