SAINT PAUL, MINN.-- The Hamline University men's soccer team defeated UW-River Falls 4-1 on Wednesday at Ramer Field in River Falls, Wis.
The Pipers hold an overall record of 14-5-0 and a conference record of 4-5-0. UW-River Falls has an overall record of 7-9-0, with a stronger conference performance at 3-1-0.

Hamline's
Ricky Kwabena Yawson scored twice with goals in the second and 18th minutes, before UW-River Falls responded with a goal from Landon Christiansen in the 26th minute that made the score 2-1.
The Pipers stretched their lead to 3-1, courtesy of
Augustine Feika in the 36th minute. The first half featured multiple fouls on both sides, with UW-River Falls receiving a yellow card for Ashton Musgrave late in the period.
In the second half, the Pipers extended their lead with a goal by
Cole Brennan in the 82nd minute, assisted by
Dane Hanks and
Drew Axel, bringing the score to 4-1. Hamline dominated the offensive efforts with multiple shot attempts, including notable saves by UW-River Falls' goalkeeper Alvaro Boned, who stopped shots from
Ricky Kwabena Yawson,
Drew Axel, and
Ashton Frost. The half also saw frequent fouls, with Hamline committing four and UW-River Falls committing two.
The Pipers' victory marked their 14th win, the most among all MIAC teams this season, showcasing their strong 2024 campaign. Meanwhile, UW-River Falls is navigating their first year as a varsity program.Â

Ricky Kwabena Yawson was a standout player for the Pipers, leading with two goals, one of which was a game-winner, and four shots on goal.
Augustine Feika and
Cole Brennan each contributed with a goal, adding to the team's offensive efforts.
Jonathan Bayer made an impact with two assists, demonstrating his playmaking abilities. In goal,
Bodean Gaustad was solid with four saves in 85 minutes, helping secure a win for the team.
UW-River Falls featured several standout players this season. Alvaro Boned, a goalkeeper, recorded an impressive seven saves, highlighting his defensive contributions. Forward Landon Christiansen led the team's scoring efforts with the Falcons' lone goal assisted by Ashton Musgrave and Sorel Richardson.
The Pipers will conclude their 2024 season on Saturday, November 2, when they host Saint Mary's (Minn.) at Pat Paterson Field at 3:30 p.m.
