SAINT PAUL, MINN.--The Hamline University men's hockey team secured a 3-2 victory over Concordia (Minn.) at TRIA Rink on Wednesday night, marking their second-straight win.
Hamline improves to 2-5, while the Cobbers fall to 4-5.

The first period saw intense competition with the Pipers ultimately taking the lead. Concordia dominated the faceoffs early, including one by Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe at 19:26 and another at 12:20. Despite the Cobbers' control in faceoffs,
Will Matzke scored the only goal of the period at 12:18 off an assist by
Jonah Mortenson that gave the Pipers a 1-0 lead. Both teams committed penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct at 10:42, resulting in a brief 4-on-4 play, but neither team capitalized on the opportunity.
Hunter Olson scored the only goal of the second period at 10:36 with an assist from Tal Halliday at even strength, which knotted things at 1-1. Throughout the period, both teams had numerous missed shots and saves, with the Cobbers' Philippe De Champlain and Hamline's
Trevor Wong making key stops to maintain the 1-1 tie by the end of the period.
The third frame began with
Will Matzke's second goal of the game at 1:48, assisted by
Jordon Halverson, increasing Hamline's lead to 3-1. Concordia faced a setback with a penalty on Blaise Miller, giving Hamline a power play, though the Pipers did not capitalize. Shortly after, Tommy Carls scored a game-winning goal for Hamline at 6:27, again assisted by Halverson and
Jackson Wille. The Cobbers responded with a power-play goal by Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe at 8:54, narrowing the score to 3-2. Despite multiple shot attempts and pulling their goalie twice for an extra attacker, Concordia was unable to even the score.
Tommy Carls made a significant impact with a game-winning goal, contributing to the team's scoring efforts.
Will Matzke led with two goals and held a faceoff winning percentage of 66%, underscoring his offensive and faceoff abilities.
Jordon Halverson was effective in playmaking with two assists, aiding the team's offensive plays.
Trevor Wong showed solid performance in goalkeeping, with 32 saves in his start, highlighting his defensive contributions to the team.
Hunter Olson stood out for the Cobbers, scoring one goal on five shots. Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe contributed with a power-play goal and maintained a 73 percent faceoff win rate, winning 19-of-26 faceoffs. Ben Luedtke excelled in the faceoff circle, winning five of six for an 83 percent success rate.
Philippe De Champlain made 26 saves in net for the Cobbers.
Hamline will resume MIAC play on Friday, December 6, when they'll travel to St. Scholastica for a 7 p.m. game.
