Calvin Knight's tally with :37 remaining in regulation propelled the Hamline University men's hockey team to a 5-4 victory at St. Scholastica on Friday night. Hamline widens their win streak to three games.
The Pipers improve to 3-5, 2-3 MIAC, while the Saints fall to 6-4-1, 2-3 MIAC.Â

Hamline took an early lead with
Carson Simon scoring at 1:17, assisted by
Brandon McNamara and
Calvin Knight. Simon continued his strong performance with a second goal at 8:44, again assisted by McNamara, bringing the score to 2-0. A power-play opportunity arose for Hamline following a slashing penalty on Evan Pahos, which Simon capitalized on to complete a hat trick at 14:49, assisted once more by McNamara and Knight, making it 3-0. The Saints responded with Jacob Seitz scoring an unassisted goal at 17:55, closing the period with a score of 3-1.
The second frame began with the Pipers taking control of the puck immediately with Tommy Carls winning the faceoff. Early on, both teams exchanged a series of missed shots and blocked attempts, with
Maximillian Haselbacher making multiple saves for Hamline. At 10:13, Tommy Carls scored for the Pipers, assisted by
Brock Carls and Knight, extending their lead to 4-1. The Saints responded with two goals in the latter part of the period, with Nathan Adrian scoring at 17:44 and Evan Pahos adding another at 18:58, narrowing the gap to 4-3 heading into the third. A penalty on Jacob Seitz set up a power play opportunity for Hamline to start the third.
The Saints knotted the game 4-4 with Hunter Hanson's goal at 3:06, assisted by Nick Lanigan and Aksel Jalojarvi. Hamline responded with persistent offensive pressure, though several shots by Knight and others missed the mark or were saved. Despite multiple power-play opportunities, the Pipers struggled to capitalize until Knight scored the game-winning goal at 19:22, assisted by McNamara and Simon, giving the Pipers a 5-4 victory.Â

Jacob Seitz was a key contributor for the Saints, having scored one goal on six shots, and contributing to the team's defense with two blocked shots. Nathan Adrian also stood out with one goal and a faceoff win percentage of 64, having won 11 out of 17 faceoffs. Hunter Hanson scored one goal scored and had two blocked shots. Brodie Girod was effective in faceoffs, winning 12 out of 15. Lastly, Evan Pahos contributed one goal and maintained a faceoff win percentage of 63, having won seven out of 11. Eino Rissanen made 28 saves in net for St. Scholastica.
