Auggies Finish Sweep of Pipers

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's hockey team came up empty in a 3-0 decision against Augsburg at TRIA Rink on Saturday evening. 

The Pipers fall to 7-14-2, 3-10-1 MIAC, while the Auggies improve to 13-8-2, 10-3-1 MIAC.

The Auggies wasted no time as Nick Catalano's goal at 00:18 of the first gave his team a 1-0 lead. It proved to be the game-winning goal as Augsburg kept the shutout intact; and got tallies from Tommy Carls at 12:52 of the first, and an empty-netter from Daniel Chladek at 18:54 of the third that widened the score to 3-0.

A whopping 16 penalties were called in the contest, seven of which were assessed to Hamline. 

Keaton Woosley made 26 saves in net for Hamline, while Samuel Vyletelka stopped 26 shots for Augsburg.

The Pipers will travel to Bethel on Friday, February 16 for a 7 p.m. game.
