EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team made the quick jaunt to Lifetime Fitness Eden Prairie to face Macalester on Saturday evening. The Pipers found success at the top of their lineup, but dropped a 5-4 decision to the Scots.
"That was as close as it gets tonight," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "My guys played their hearts out and came up a little bit short. We are on the verge of something big. Congrats to Rumeal Setts on his first win at #1 in the MIAC."
Hamline falls to 4-3, 0-3 MIAC, while the Scots improve to 1-1, 1-0 MIAC.

Tyler Rousslang/Rumeal Setts locked Hamline's lone doubles win at the No. 2 spot with an 8-7 decision.
Four singles matches went to an extra set, three of those belonged to the Pipers.
Hamline prevailed in three of the top-four singles matches, which began with a 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 victory from Setts at No. 1. Rousslang was victorious at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 decision, followed by a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 win from Elijah Krause at No. 4.
