Pipers Cruise Past Auggies on the Road

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University men's basketball team led for all but the opening 3:20 of a 73-53 road victory over Augsburg on Saturday afternoon.

The Pipers improve to 13-7, 11-4 MIAC, while the Auggies fall to 7-13, 5-10 MIAC.

For the seventh time this season, the Pipers eclipsed a +.500 field goal percentage as they shot .508 (31-of-61). All 10 Pipers who entered the game pulled down at least one rebound en route to a season-high 44 in the contest.

Austin Holt registered a game-high 23 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Bradley Cimperman had 14 points and two steals, while Brendan Ebel came through with 10 points, seven boards, and three assists. 

The Pipers defense was stellar in the first half, as they held Augsburg to a 6-of-25 (.240) figure. 

Hamline will travel to St. Olaf on Monday, February 5 for a 7 p.m. game.
