MENOMONIE, WIS.—The Hamline University men's soccer team paid a visit to UW-Stout for their 2024 season opener on Friday afternoon. A 21-2 shots advantage was had by the Pipers en route to a 2-0 victory over the Blue Devils.
Hamline improves to 1-0, while UW-Stout falls to 0-1.

Both Piper goals occurred in the opening half courtesy of Rigoberto Arellano from Jessie Juarez in the 20th minute, and Ryder Tomlinson Sterud in the 44th minute to make the score 2-0. Arellano's tally was the first of his collegiate career.
Hamline goalkeeper Maxim Henderson made one save in the complete-game win. Max Kutz stopped one shot over the first 45:00 before Chase Holub made eight saves over the final 45:00 in net for UW-Stout.
Hamline will host Northland at Pat Paterson Field on Sunday, September 1 at 4 p.m.
