MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team came through with their first shutout of the season with a 5-0 road victory over North Central (Minn.) on Wednesday night.
The Pipers improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Rams stay win-less at 0-3.

Twenty-six individuals saw the field for Hamline, who had the upper hand in shots 30-0 as late as the 76th minute before they concluded the game with a 32-3 advantage. It resulted in goals from Kayla Ramirez in the 37th minute, Sydni Thompson in the 60th, Ellie Nhean in the 63rd, Alexis Geary in the 76th, and Alexi Schneider in the 81st to lock a 5-0 victory for the Pipers.
The tallies from Ramirez, Geary and Schneider were the first of their collegiate careers. Geary paced the Hamline offense with a three-point outing that included one goal, and one assist. Jasmin Balgobin, Maya Dempsey, and Anikka Shoholm each dished one assist for the Pipers.
Eighteen Pipers contributed at least one shot, with six individuals firing three.
Hamline goalkeeper Cate Toal played the first 45:00 in net and didn't record a save, before Brianna Thompson and Sarah Russell each saw time in the second half. Thompson had the Pipers' lone save.
North Central goalkeeper Renae Juni stopped 12 shots over the first 72:52 before Erma Ramirez recorded one stop throughout the final 17:08 between the pipes.
Hamline will travel to Central (Iowa) on Saturday, September 14 for a 4 p.m. match.
