MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's volleyball team prevailed with a 3-1 (28-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20) victory road victory over North Central (Minn.) on Tuesday night.
The Pipers move to 6-7, while the Rams fall to 6-2 (28-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20)

A whopping four lead changes occurred in the opening set, where the Rams jumped to a 10-5 advantage behind three service aces and four team kills. The Pipers put together 8-0, and 8-1 runs in the frame to secure a 25-18 victory.
The second set also resulted in two lead changes as the Pipers held advantages of 11-9 and 17-15 before North Central ended the match with a 10-3 run. This included a 3-0 run at the tail end behind kills from Erica Tormanen, Lexie Semrau, and Sydney Carlston.
Seven service aces, and three kills from Lauren Wilborn highlighted Hamline in their 25-19 victory that put them in front 2-1.Â
The fourth set saw four kills apiece from Riley Melby and Lauren Wilborn en route to a .222 hitting percentage, as well as four services aces that iced a 25-20 victory, and 3-1 match win.
Wilborn paced Hamline with 10 kills, followed by nine from Elizabeth Lopata, and eight from Melby. Kaitlyn Kotek led the way with 29 assists and four service aces. Mandy Dierks also had four aces, while Kayli Starkey added three aces and a team-leading 13 digs.
The Pipers will return to action on Wednesday, September 25, when they host Luther at Hutton Arena at 7 p.m.
