MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—For the second-straight season, the Hamline University women's soccer team battled their way to a 0-0 tie in their 2024 MIAC opener at Augsburg on Wednesday night. It was the same result from their last meeting at Pat Paterson Field on September 12, 2023.
The Pipers' first tie of 2024 moves their record to 3-3-1, while the Auggies exit the contest with a 3-2-1 mark.
Hamline 0, Augsburg 0
The shots department was heavily in favor of Augsburg 28-5. Sydni Thompson and Josie Carlson recorded Hamline's lone shots on goal in the contest. Jayla Ponce fired a game-high 10 shots for the Auggies, far away from the second-best total of two fired from eight individuals.
Hamline goalkeeper Isabella Jensen recorded seven saves in her first complete-game shutout of the season, while her counterpart Tess Enlow stopped two shots in net for Augsburg.
The Pipers will host Saint Benedict at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday, September 21 at 1 p.m.
