SAINT PAUL, MINN.—For the first time since 2018, the Hamline University men's soccer team found themselves on the winning end against Saint John's (Minn.), as first year Ricky Kwabena Yawson's seventh goal of the season in the 55th minute secured them 1-0 victory.
This game was resumed on Tuesday afternoon after it was suspended in the 16th minute due to lightning on Saturday, September 21.
The Pipers, who now have the most wins in a season since 2017, improve to 9-1, 1-1 MIAC. The Johnnies fall to 2-4, 0-2 MIAC.

Kwabena Yawson registered his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 55th minute, while Ryder Tomlinson Sterud picked up his team-best seventh assist on the play. Tomlinson Sterud has contributed a point in all 10 games for Hamline in 2024, and currently leads the team in scoring with six goals and seven assists. His 19 points through 10 games matches his total from 2023.
Hamline out shot Saint John's 12-11. The Kwabena Yawson-Tomlinson Sterud duo accounted for eight of Hamline's shots.
Pipers goalkeeper Bodean Gaustad made five saves in his third complete-game shutout of the season. Evan Siefken stopped two shots between the pipes for the Johnnies.
Hamline will travel to No. 4 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, September 28 for a 3:30 p.m. match.
