No. 4 Gusties Get By Pipers

ST. PETER, MINN.—A perfect shots on goal percentage was accomplished by the Hamline University men's soccer team, but there were just two of them in a 3-2 loss to No. 4 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday afternoon.

The Pipers fall to 9-2, 1-2 MIAC, while the nationally-ranked Gusties stay undefeated at 8-0-1, 3-0 MIAC.

Gustavus Adolphus 3, Hamline 2

The game's first 11 shots belonged to Gustavus. It resulted in their 2-0 lead courtesy of Joe Flory in the 25th minute, and Alexander Krumenauer off a feed from Owen Johnson in the 54th minute.

Hamline's first shot of the game found the back of the net thanks to Clarence Weah in the 75th minute, who was assessed a red card on the play. This set up Johnson's tally just :51 later that widened Gustavus's lead to 3-1.

Jessie Juarez registered his fourth goal of the season on his team's third shot of the game in the 83rd minute, which narrowed Hamline's deficit to 3-2.

Ryder Tomlinson Sterud, who's registered a point in all 11 games for the Pipers, dished two assists in this contest. Juarez finished with a three-point outing.

Gustavus outshot Hamline 16-3.

Bodean Gaustad made five saves in net for Hamline, while Egan Bedwell didn't record a save over 90:00 for Gustavus.

The Pipers will make the long midweek trip to Moorhead on Wednesday, October 2 to face Concordia (Minn.) at 4 p.m.
