The game's early and late stages resulted in Piper goals. Addyson Barrett set the tone with her second tally of the season off a feed from Adela Ashby in the seventh minute to give Hamline a 1-0 advantage.

Northwestern dominated in shots by a 13-5 margin, but just one goal came of it courtesy of Alix Krueger in the 34th minute to knot the score at 1-1.

Up-and-down play was the theme over the final 45:00, where the Eagles held a slim 11-10 edge in shots. Two of those belonged to Maya Dempsey in the 76th and 84th minutes to secure the Pipers a 3-1 victory. Maya Cruz was credited an assist on Dempsey's second goal of the game, and fourth of the season.

Northwestern out shot Hamline 24-15.

Isabella Jensen made 10 saves in net for the Pipers, while her counterpart Kaisa Niska stopped six shots for the Eagles.

The Pipers will make the short trip to North Central (Minn.) on Wednesday, September 11 for a 6 p.m.
