Pipers Dominate Martin Luther in 90-49 Win

NEW ULM, Minn. — The Hamline University basketball team (3-1, 0-0 MIAC) secured a decisive 90-49 victory over Martin Luther College (1-4, 0-0 UMAC) on Wednesday night at Luther Student Center. The Pipers capitalized on 25 Martin Luther turnovers, converting them into 39 points.

Hamline took an early lead against Martin Luther, capitalizing on turnovers and fast breaks. Dominic Dosmann opened the scoring with a layup following a Brock Donaldson steal at the 19:40 mark. Raoul Vaidya extended the lead with back-to-back 3-pointers, bringing the score to 10-0. Brendan Ebel's defensive rebound and subsequent fast-break layup at 10:51 pushed the Pipers ahead 20-5. Hamline maintained control throughout the half, concluding with a 42-20 advantage, thanks in part to Jake DeDominces' three-pointer at 4:47.

Hamline dominated the second half, outscoring Martin Luther 48-29. Vaidya initiated the scoring with a three-pointer at 19:15, assisted by Donaldson, and quickly followed with a fast-break layup, also aided by Donaldson. Ebel contributed significantly with a three-pointer at the 10:01 mark, extending the lead. Martin Luther's Ethan Kjenstad and William Salgat each made late three-pointers, but Hamline's consistent offense secured the victory, highlighted by Logan Kunz's three-pointer with 45 seconds remaining.
