ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline (0-5-0, 0-3-0) fell to Bethel University (3-3-0, 1-0-0), 4–1, at Bethel University Arena. Despite the Pipers' power-play goal in the second period, Bethel secured the win with two goals in the same frame.
The first period began with Bethel securing the initial faceoff, quickly setting the tone for the period. Hamline's
Calvin Knight attempted the first shot of the game, which was blocked by Bethel's Tyler Braccini. Bethel capitalized on a power play opportunity at 17:43, with Jack Brown scoring the period's sole goal, assisted by Connor Brazil and Tyler Braccini. Despite several shot attempts by the Pipers, the period concluding with Bethel ahead 1–0.
Bethel took control in the second period with an unassisted goal by Jeremiah Konkel at 16:37, extending their lead to 2-0. Hamline responded with a power-play goal from
AJ Carls, assisted by
Kyle Mortenson and
Tristen May-Robinson, at 8:21 to cut the deficit to one. However, Bethel reestablished a two-goal lead at 7:09 with Jack Brown finding the net, assisted by Tyler Braccini and Ethan Hull. Despite several attempts by the Pipers, Bethel's defense and goaltender Austin Ryman held firm, keeping the score at 3-1 by the end of the period.
Peyton Blair extended Bethel's lead to 4-1 with a goal at 15:53 in the third period, assisted by Joe Westlund and Logan Anderson. Hamline generated several scoring opportunities early in the period, with shots from
Kyle Mortenson and
Will Matzke, but Bethel's goaltender Austin Ryman made key saves to maintain the advantage. The Pipers' power play at 9:09 did not yield a goal, as Ryman continued to turn away attempts, including one from
