Hamline's Fast-Break Offense Powers Past Wisconsin-Stout

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Hamline (5-1, 0-0 MIAC) secured an 85-68 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout (2-3, 0-0 WIAC) on Tuesday night at Hutton Arena. The Pipers capitalized on the opponent's turnovers, scoring 24 points off turnovers to bolster their win.

Hamline opened the first half with a quick layup by Dane DeDominces, which was followed by a 3-pointer from Domanyck Schwarzenberger of Wisconsin-Stout. The teams exchanged leads multiple times until Brendan Ebel scored a fast-break layup at 12:36, initiating a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 17-12. DeDominces continued to contribute with consistent inside scoring and free throws, while Dominic Dosmann's performance included critical 3-pointers, pushing the Pipers to a 47-29 advantage. Despite Stout's efforts to close the gap, Hamline maintained control, finishing the half ahead 49-34.

Hamline extended their lead early in the second half with a series of fast-breaks, featuring Ebel's layup at 19:07 assisted by DeDominces. Ebel and DeDominces combined effectively, with DeDominces contributing a layup of his own at 17:35, pushing the home team to a 19-point advantage. Even with Stout's efforts, including a 3-pointer by Colin Hudson at 2:20, the Pipers maintained a dominant lead. Dosmann's consistent scoring, highlighted by a layup at the 4:00 mark, helped secure Hamline's 85-68 victory.

Dosmann led the team with 22 points, converting 10 of 17 field goal attempts. Ebel contributed 15 points and secured four steals. Dane DeDominces added 10 points while collecting nine rebounds. Jake DeDominces scored 14 points, including two 3-pointers, and tallied four successful free throws.

The Pipers will be back after the Thanksgiving break on the road to St. Peter, Minn. where they will face off with Gustavus in their first MIAC match up of the season on December 3, with tipoff scheduled for 7 PM.
