MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.--The Hamline University men's basketball team secured a 77-71 road victory over Augsburg on Wednesday night. This win marks the Pipers' sixth consecutive victory over the Auggies, solidifying their dominance in recent matchups.
Hamline improves to 12-9, 8-4 MIAC, while Augsburg falls to 9-12, 5-7 MIAC.

The Pipers established an early lead with
Brendan Ebel and
Daniel McCarrell scoring two consecutive layups within the opening two minutes. Augsburg's Andy Stafford responded with a 3-pointer at 17:55, contributing to a quick seven-point run that put Augsburg ahead 7-4. However, the Pipers regained control midway through the half with
Bradley Cimperman and
Raoul Vaidya combining for key scores, including a Cimperman three-pointer that pushed the score to 17-14 in favor of Hamline with 10:07 on the clock. As the half progressed,Â
Austin Holt contributed significantly with rebounds and assists, helping his team to extend their lead to 40-26 by the end of the half.
In the second half, Augsburg began with a strong defensive effort, highlighted by a steal from Will Blascziek at 18:09. Despite this, Hamline's
Bradley Cimperman led a scoring surge with a key 3-pointer and several layups, helping the visiting team extend their lead to 16 points on three occasions, which included a 55-39 cushion with 13:17 remaining. The half saw frequent fouls from both sides, with Hamline committing 12 and Augsburg 15, impacting the game's pace. Ultimately, the Pipers were outscored by the Auggies 45-37 in the half, concluding with a score of 77-71.
Bradley Cimperman led Hamline with standout statistics, scoring 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and securing a career-high 12 rebounds.
Raoul Vaidya contributed significantly with 15 points, making 3-of-5 three-pointers, and added four assists and three steals.
Austin Holt was effective on the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists, while also blocking a shot.
Dominic Dosmann was efficient, scoring 12 points with a 6-of-8 shooting performance.
Camden Holecek displayed defensive prowess with two steals.
The Pipers shot .519 (28-of-54) from the field, while the Auggies came through with a .441 (26-of-59) mark.
Elias Batala led Augsburg with 22 points, shooting six-for-nine from the field and converting 10-of-12 free throws. Andy Stafford also made a significant contribution, scoring 18 points and hitting three 3-pointers while grabbing eight rebounds. Will Blascziek showcased his all-around game with 11 points and a team-high three steals. Julien Hussherr provided defensive support with four steals.
