DE PERE, WIS.—The Hamline University women's tennis team opened the 2025 portion of their schedule with a 7-0 victory at St. Norbert.
The Pipers improve to 3-3, while the Green Knights fall to 7-4.
"Terrific sweep for the women today," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "First college win for Emily Dreger at No. 6 singles. Our No. 1 and 2 singles players fought hard and won close tiebreaks that were extremely exciting."
Hamline 7, St. Norbert 0
The Pipers claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 victories from Vanessa Pham/Cora Andersen at No. 1, and Elanna Kohner/Christine Muller at No. 2.
Pham carried that momentum into No. 1 singles, where she won 4-6, 6-2, 1-0. Andersen took care of business 7-5, 6-7, 1-0 at No. 2. Kohner cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 3, while Muller won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4. Anya Sugden prevailed with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4. Emily Dreger was victorious at No. 6 by a 7-5, 7-6 score.
The Pipers will face Augustana (Ill.) in a neutral-site match in De Pere, Wisconsin tomorrow, Saturday, February 8 at 2:30 p.m.
