Pipers Cruise Past Edgewood in Florida

ORLANDO, FLA.—The Hamline University men's tennis team defeated Edgewood College 6-1 in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday.

The Pipers improve to 2-6, while the Eagles fall to 4-7.

"Nice win for the men today," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "New doubles combinations are playing well. Shout out to Sam Siegel for his first college lineup victory."

Hamline 6, Edgewood 1

The Pipers swept doubles behind a 6-2 win from Rumeal Setts/Tyler Rousslang at No. 1 doubles, a 6-1 decision from Cooper Johnson/Matthew George at No. 2, and another 6-1 victory from Sam Siegel/Surprise Taylor at No. 3.

Setts won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Johnson prevailed 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Elijah Krause was victorious 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, while George took care of business 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5. Jonah Wendt rounded out the winners with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 6.

The Pipers will face Scranton in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m.
