ORLANDO, FLA.—The Hamline University women's tennis team defeated Edgewood College 7-0 in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday.
The Pipers improve to 5-5, while the Eagles fall to 14-5.
"Great win for the women against a very evenly matched opponent," said Pipers head coach Spencer Jones. "Super close doubles matches set the tone. Elanna Kohner played a great match at 3."
Hamline 7, Edgewood 0
The Pipers swept doubles behind a 6-4 win from Vanessa Pham/Cora Andersen at No. 1, a 6-2 decision from Emily Dreger/Chloe Reyes at No. 2, and a 7-6 triumph from Christine Muller/Anya Sugden at No. 3.
Pham won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Andersen prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. Elanna Kohner was victorious 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. Muller took care of business 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. Dreger notched a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5, while Reyes rounded out the Pipers with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
The Pipers will face Scranton in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
