MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—A season-high 20 goals, 29 points, 44 shots, 37 shots on goal, six free position tallies, and 22 draw controls were achieved by the Hamline University women's lacrosse team in their 20-5 road thrashing of Augsburg on Friday night.
The Pipers, who've now won four of their last five games and have nine-straight victories over the Auggies, improve to 6-7, 4-3 WIAC. Augsburg falls to 0-7, 0-6 WIAC.
Hamline 20, Augsburg 5
Hamline surrendered a season-low five goals, zero assists, five points, 10 shots, seven shots on goal, 10 ground balls, four caused turnovers, and six draw controls from the opposition.
A season-high eight points, five goals, and three assists came from Emma Collins, while Ema Rehder's career night consisted of four goals, one assist, five points, and a game-high nine shots. Rehder added four ground balls, and five draw controls to her stat line.
Avery Wilson tied for a team-leading four caused turnovers, three ground balls, three goals, and two assists for the Pipers. Courtney Parker was also all over the stat sheet with a team-leading five draw controls and five ground balls, as well as three goals. A season-high nine draw controls was achieved by Lauren Moorhouse, who also had two goals and two ground balls. Reagan Zywicki rounded out the multi-goal Pipers with two tallies and one assist on eight shots.
The Pipers finished 5-of-7 on clears, out shot the Auggies 44-10, and accounted for 6-of-14 infractions assessed in the contest.
Matilda Urbia made two saves in net for Hamline, while Nicole Schuster stopped 17 shots between the pipes for Augsburg.
The Pipers will host Saint Benedict at Klas Field on Wednesday, April 23 at 5 p.m.
