ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Hamline University men's soccer team and No. 14 nationally-ranked UW-Platteville played to a 2-2 draw at Paterson Field on Friday evening.
Both teams begin the 2025 season with a 0-0-1 record.

The Pipers'
Edgar Flores Vasquez equalized in the 16th minute following an early goal by Platteville's Ethan Dietrich in the fourth minute, which made things 1-1. Despite multiple opportunities, the Pioneers converted one more in the opening half courtesy of Brady Harwood's tally in the 17th minute that gave his team a 2-1 edge. Both teams received multiple yellow cards, with Hamline accumulating four by the end of the half.
The Pipers equalized in the 71st minute with a goal from
Belal Elghorab, assisted by
Drew Axel, to level the score at 2-2.
Alec Setterberg made key saves for Hamline, stopping multiple shots from Platteville's forwards, including a crucial save in the 78th minute to maintain the tie.
Setterberg made six saves for the Pipers while facing 21 shots, allowing two goals. Flores Vasquez and Elghorab each scored a goal, with both players achieving a shot on goal. Axel contributed with an assist and had one shot on goal.
Johanso Camacho led the team in total shots, taking five and placing four on goal.
Dietrich scored one goal for the Pioneers, converting his only shot on goal. Harwood contributed significantly with one goal and one assist, leading the team with nine shots and four shots on goal. Seth Aiken registered six saves in net for the Pioneers, facing 14 shots and allowing two goals.
The Pipers will host North Central (Minn.) at Pat Paterson Field on Monday, September 1 at 5 p.m.
