ST. PAUL, MINN. — The Hamline University men's soccer team defeated North Central (Minn.) with a 4-1 victory at Pat Paterson Field on Monday.
The win brings the Pipers to 1-0-1 on the season, while the Rams fall to 0-1-0 after the defeat.

Hamline took control in the first half with two goals, one from
Chris Palma in the 26th minute, assisted by
Sylvester Doe, and another from
Johanso Camacho in the 31st minute, securing a 2-0 lead over the Rams. Hamline had an active offensive display with eight shots, though only two found the net, and faced six offside calls. Goalkeeper
Alec Setterberg kept a clean sheet, making key saves against North Central's two shots on goal.
The Pipers extended their lead in the second half with goals from
Drew Axel in the 61st minute and Augustune Feika in the 82nd, both assisted by teammates. Despite receiving two red cards, Hamline held strong defensively, limiting the Rams to a single goal from Alex Chacich in the 85th minute. Hamline finished with a 4-1 victory, maintaining a strong offensive presence and surviving multiple fouls and cards during the half.
Camacho led the Pipers with one goal and one assist, contributing to a total of three points. His goal was also the game-winner. Setterberg played a crucial role in goal, making four saves and allowing just one goal over 90 minutes. Axel and Feika each scored a goal, with both players registering one shot on goal.
Ashton Frost and Doe each recorded an assist, aiding the team's offensive efforts.
Trystin Procyk made a notable impact in goal for the Rams with five saves, playing 45 minutes in the match. Frederick Stevens also contributed as a goalkeeper, recording three saves in his 45 minutes of play. Chacich was the only player to score a goal for North Central, scoring with his sole shot on goal. Rody Cuate Torres and Ricardo Vera Martinez each had one shot on goal, though neither found the back of the net.

The Pipers will travel to Lakeland on Friday, September 5 for a 7 p.m. match.
