Record Setting Win: Pipers Off to Best Start in Program History

Saint Paul, Minn. --  After earning a draw against Preseason Top 25 UW-Platteville, Hamline, now 7-0-1, has been on a torrid pace. Seven straight wins is now the longest undefeated streak in program history. 2025 is also etched in the record books as the best start to a season EVER, besting the 2024 Pipers who started 7-1-0.

In a thrilling MIAC conference opener, the Hamline Men's Soccer team overcame an early deficit to defeat Concordia-Moorhead with a final score of 4-1.

The Pipers initially fell behind in the 7th minute due to an own goal, but this early setback ignited a dominant performance for the remaining 83 minutes. Hamline's relentless pressure was evident as they doubled Concordia's shot attempts and corner kicks.

The redemption goal came in the 37th minute when Chris Palma, assisted by Drew Axel, leveled the score. The Pipers took the lead for good shortly after halftime with a penalty kick from Beniam Makonnen in the 49th minute.

Hamline sealed the victory with two late goals. Alexander Taylor scored in the 84th minute, again assisted by Drew Axel, and just a minute later, Johanso Camacho found the back of the net with an assist from Cris Corrales.

Now 1-0 in MIAC play, the Pipers take their 7-0-1 record to Northfield, MN to face Carleton on Sunday, September 21st.
