Northfield, Minn. - The Hamline men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-0 conference loss on the road against Carleton College.
The Pipers were put on their heels early, as the Knights scored two goals in the first six minutes of play.
Despite the early deficit, Hamline responded with a strong offensive push, firing off nine shots over the next 40 minutes in an attempt to equalize. However, the Carleton defense held firm, and the Pipers were unable to find the back of the net. Carleton extended their lead in the 65th minute, scoring their third and final goal of the match. The Knights then controlled possession for the remainder of the contest, preventing any further comeback attempts from Hamline.
The Pipers will have a chance to regroup on Wednesday, September 24th, as they return home for a non-conference matchup against UW-Stout. Hamline will look to repeat last season's success against the Blue Devils, a match they won 2-0.
