Saint Paul, Minn. - The Hamline Pipers men's soccer team secured a convincing 4-1 home victory against UW-Stout at Pat Patterson Field.
The Pipers' offense was relentless, with four different players finding the back of the net. Hamline got on the board early when
Cris Corrales scored his second goal of the season at the 19 minute mark, assisted by
Johanso Camacho. The Blue Devils answered back before halftime, with a goal of their own in the 37th minute to tie the game.
The second half, however, belonged entirely to the Pipers. Just over five minutes in,
Beniam Makonnen netted his fifth goal of the year, assisted by
Drew Axel, to put Hamline ahead for good.
Johanso Camacho extended the lead in the 65th minute, scoring his fifth goal of the season with an assist from
Kieran Barrientos. To cap off the night,
Belal Elghorab scored the Pipers' final goal in the 82nd minute. Â This goal was assisted again by
Drew Axel who leads the Pipers with 6 assists on the year.
The Pipers' strong offensive performance and a well-defended second half sealed the 4-1 win over UW-Stout.
The next test on the horizon is MIAC foe Saint Mary's University this Saturday at 1:00pm back again on Pat Patterson Field.Â
