ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline faced another tough ranked opponent #12 Bethel, at Klas Field, ultimately falling 62-12 on home turf. Bethel capitalized on a powerful ground game, scoring seven rushing touchdowns, while their defense intercepted four passes to secure the win. The Pipers' offense was highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown pass, but was unable to close the gap against a dominant opponent.
Dawson Schaffer led the Pipers receiving corps with 210 yards on 10 catches, scoring one touchdown.
Jacob Aki contributed significantly in the air with 253 passing yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-24 passing.
D'Nari Adams was also effective, recording 106 receiving yards on 10 receptions. On defense,
Troy Spellman made a notable impact with five tackles, forced a fumble, and recovered another.
Geebli led Bethel with three rushing touchdowns on 18 carries, accumulating 63 yards. Manns also contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns on 13 attempts.
The Pipers will be down the road next Saturday, October 4 at 7 PM, facing off against Macalester under the lights.
