NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Hamline (11-7, 3-6 MIAC) fell to St. Olaf College (12-7, 8-2 MIAC) 68-62 on Saturday at Skoglund Athletic Center. Despite the Pipers' 38 points in the paint, the Oles capitalized on nine steals to secure the home victory.
The game commenced with
Brendan Ebel scoring a layup for Hamline, giving them an early advantage. St. Olaf's Rex Lamb responded with a 3-pointer at 18:54, assisted by Liam Madigan, putting the home team ahead. Throughout the half, both teams exchanged leads multiple times, highlighted by Kobe Kirk's jumper and layup for St. Olaf and
Raoul Vaidya's consistent scoring for Hamline. The half concluded dramatically when AJ Uhl's layup with just two seconds left secured a narrow 34-33 lead for the Oles.
St. Olaf extended their lead consistently in the second half, supported by a strong performance from Lamb, who opened the half with a layup at 19:39 and later added crucial free throws in the final seconds.
Dominic Dosmann of Hamline quickly answered with a layup at 19:22, assisted by Vaidya, but the Oles maintained control with Kirk's jumper at 17:48, pushing the score to 40-35. Despite the Pipers' efforts, including a 3-pointer from Vaidya at 14:59, the Oles capitalized on turnovers and fast breaks, with Uhl contributing with a dunk and layup in quick succession. The game concluded with St. Olaf securing a 68-62 victory after Lamb's free throws in the final second.
Raoul Vaidya scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and contributed four assists.
Braedy Laliberte recorded seven points and led the team with four steals.
Dane DeDominces posted 15 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Dosmann added nine points and collected eight rebounds.
