Pipers Record Ten Shots in Loss to Saint Mary's

WINONA, Minn. — Hamline lost to Saint Mary's (MN) 3-0 on Saturday. The Pipers recorded 10 shots, put five on goal and earned seven corner kicks but were held scoreless.

The Pipers generated the early pressure, with Danna Garcia forcing a save from Kelsy Siercks at 2:56 before a corner kick at 4:38. Addyson Barrett put another shot on frame at 15:31, the Pipers earned a second corner at 17:13 and Ellie Nhean had a shot saved at 21:22, but Saint Mary's (MN) moved in front when Hannah Bradley scored off a Makayla Clow assist at 33:06. Sienna Parsons saved Alyshia Gay's shot at 35:34, and Neva Woodson missed right in the 43rd minute as the first half ended with Saint Mary's (MN) ahead 1-0.

With Saint Mary's (MN) holding a 1-0 lead, Parsons kept the Pipers within one by saving Sadie Chrusciel's shot at 54:59 after early chances from Kaylen Pray and Hannah Bradley. The Pipers pushed back with three corners from 55:35 to 58:57, two shots from Woodson and a saved attempt by Elysse Tanaka at 60:25, then added another corner and shots from Nhean and Barrett. Kaylen Pray scored at 73:56 to put Saint Mary's (MN) ahead 2-0, and Maren Clow added a goal off Jersey Appert's assist at 81:56 as the Cardinals closed out a 3-0 result.

Woodson finished with a team-high three shots. Barrett put both of her shots on goal. Parsons played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.

The Pipers are 4-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. Saint Mary's (MN) is 4-6-1 overall and 2-3-0 in conference play.

Up next, the Pipers host University of Wisconsin-Stout on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. at Pat Paterson Field in St. Paul, Minn.
