Pipers Fall to Carroll in Closely Contested Matches Across The Board

DEPERE, Wis. --- Hamline men's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to Carroll University on Saturday in De Pere, Wisconsin.

The Pipers got off to a strong start in doubles play, earning wins at the top two positions. Wyatt Crowell and Brendon Sebring secured a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Matthew George and Max Gulliford followed with a 6-4 win at No. 2. Carroll picked up the No. 3 doubles match to cut the advantage, but Hamline held a 2-1 lead heading into singles.

Carroll responded by sweeping all six singles matches to secure the team win. Several matches went the distance, including tough three-set battles at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles, but the Pipers were unable to convert late in the deciding sets.

Hamline will look to bounce back as the Pipers continue their season with a match against conference opponent Saint John's in Sartell on Friday, February 27 at 4:30 PM.
