DEPERE, Wis. --- Hamline women's tennis earned a 4-3 win over Carroll University on Sunday in De Pere, Wisconsin, improving to 3-3 on the season.
The Pipers took an early advantage in doubles play, winning two of three matches. Christine Muller and Emily Dreger picked up a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Shayla Draper and Gabi Newton followed with a dominant 6-1 win at No. 3. Carroll claimed the No. 1 doubles match to keep the score close heading into singles.
In singles play, Hamline secured three key wins to clinch the match. Chloe Reyes battled through a three-set thriller at No. 2 singles, winning 6-2, 3-6, 10-1 in the super tiebreak. Dreger earned a straight-set win at No. 4 (6-0, 6-4), and Draper added another point with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 5.
With the doubles points proving crucial, Hamline held off Carroll and came away with the 4-3Â team win.
